Steve Martin knew my wife and I were interested in possibly moving if the perfect house appeared, but we were also resigned to beginning a major rehab in our current house. Steve found the listing we eventually closed on two weeks before our demo started. The house was on the market for one day when Steve emailed us about it. We saw it a few hours later and the listing was exactly what my wife and I had been holding out for. The house turned out to be a very popular property, but because of Steve's hustle and knowledge of the market -- letting us know this property was a very good value considering the square footage, neighborhood and comps -- we were able to submit the first offer and I firmly believe that played a huge role in our offer being accepted, in addition to Steve emphasizing to the seller's agent that we were a local family with young children.
